Privacy Policy

It's a personal matter...

Here at The Cornucopia, we are committed to protecting your privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains when and why we collect personal information, how we use it and how we keep it secure. By using our website you are agreeing to be bound by this Policy.

What information do we gather, how and why?

We collect personal data such as your name, address or email address in order to operate our business effectively and provide you with the best experience on our website. Some of this data is provided directly from you, for example when you make a purchase or engage with us on social media.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  1. your consent, which you can remove at any time by contacting emily@thecornucopia.co.uk; and

  2. a contractual obligation, as certain personal details are necessary for The Cornucopia to fulfil your order and deliver the goodies.

How do we use this information?

We may use this information to process your orders and manage your account.

We may need to refer to this information to respond to future queries, refunds or complaints, or make reordering easier.

We will monitor your browsing activity to quickly identify or resolve any problems and protect our websites.

With your consent we may use your personal information to arrange deliveries and keep you informed by email, post, text and telephone about relevant products and special offers, discounts or promotions and competitions etc.

We may use it to notify you of any changes to our products or services.

We may pass your information to a third party only for the purposes of  providing services to you on behalf of The Cornucopia (for example to deliver the products you have ordered from us). However, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service.

Protecting your purse

We use Square as our secure payment provider.  Your credit card information is entered directly on their secure server and we do not record or hold these details.

Please visit Square's security and privacy policy page to see how they protect your personal info. For example:

  • Square performs data encryption within the card reader at the moment of transaction.

  • Square’s software is developed using industry-standard security best practices.

  • Square’s servers are monitored around the clock by dedicated security staff.

  • Square’s employees act in accordance with security policies designed to keep your data safe.

So that's reassuring!

Cookies

Cookies are very small (but not very tasty) text files that are stored on your computer when you visit some websites. We use them to help identify your computer so we can tailor your user experience, track shopping basket contents and remember where you are in the order process.

Wix uses cookies for important reasons, such as:

  • To provide a great experience for site visitors and customers.

  • To monitor and analyze the performance, operation and effectiveness of the platform.

  • To ensure the platform is secure and safe to use.

You can disable any cookies already stored on your computer, but that may stop this already rather ropey website from functioning properly.

Website security by Wix

This website has been craftily created using Wix, a hosting platform with its own inbuilt security systems. Read all about those right here.

Any questions?

If you have any questions about your personal data or our privacy policy, please email Emily at emily@thecornucopia.co.uk and she will endeavour to demystify things.
